Forgive and Forget

Oct 18, 2026  •  Thad Huff

In week six of Almost True, we examine the common advice to “forgive and forget” and discover what the Bible actually teaches about forgiveness. Rooted in passages such as Matthew 18, Ephesians 4, and Romans 12, this message reminds us that forgiveness is not condoning sin, pretending hurt never happened, or immediately rebuilding trust—it is releasing our right to revenge and entrusting justice to God. As we lay down the burden of bitterness and unforgiveness, we find the freedom, healing, and peace that come from forgiving others just as Christ has forgiven us.
